For this project, I had the opportunity to develop UI and background concepts for Riziki, an online rhythm game that celebrates Africa’s diverse music and dance culture. From the start, I was drawn to the idea of visualizing a timeline — imagining Africa from its historical roots all the way into a futuristic reimagining.

My process began with researching African landmarks, architecture, and textiles to ground the visuals in authenticity. I wanted the environments to feel both familiar and forward-looking, so I blended real-world references with speculative sci-fi aesthetics. Films like Blade Runner 2049 helped guide the mood and lighting of the futuristic settings, while traditional patterns and motifs kept the designs rooted in culture.

Throughout the project, I focused on creating a vibrant, rhythm-responsive world that supports the game's core experience — celebrating movement, music, and heritage through visual storytelling.
